As Minnesota Democratic officials hold press conferences, attend vigils, and publicly criticize the Trump administration for the shooting of Renee Good, Fox News Digital’s review found a very different response from those politicians when Minnesotans are killed or seriously injured by illegal immigrants.

“Rest in peace,” Walz posted on X this week with a photo of himself at a memorial for Good, who was shot and killed after hitting an ICE agent with his car while disrupting ICE operations in Minneapolis, according to federal officials.

Walz, along with Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey, have been on camera several times since Good’s death, blasting the Trump administration and insulting ICE while posting tributes to Good on social media.

Many Minnesotans have been killed in the past few years by immigrants who did not have the legal right to be in the United States, but Fox News Digital did not find any evidence of press conferences or anger towards them from Walz, Frey or Lt. Gov. Flanagan.

In August 2024, Minnesota mother Victoria Eilien Harwell was who died in a car accident after being beaten by a drunken Ecuadorian mob in north Minneapolis without a press conference or public statement from the mayor or governor.

ICE arrested the man, Llangari Inga of Germany, in May 2024 after Hennepin County refused to honor their detainer and released him twice.

St. Paul born Hallie Helgeson, 18, was he was killed last year and her 19-year-old boyfriend, Brady Heiling, while driving in Wisconsin when they were hit by a drunk driver who was traveling the wrong way on a highway. The driver, according to the DHS report, was a Honduran national who was intoxicated and in the country illegally.

“Hallie was an active member of Salem Lutheran Church, where she shared her faith and joy by teaching Vacation Bible School,” Helgeson’s school. said the report about his life. “Hallie’s faith played an important role in her life and every morning she would exchange Bible verses with her boyfriend, Brady Heiling. She also worked as a teaching assistant at Hawk’s Nest and had just started a position at Meadow Creek Assisted Living.

“Hallie will be deeply missed by all who knew her, remembered for her warmth, kindness, big smile, and light she brought everywhere she entered. Her legacy will live on as a ‘Giving Hero’ for helping over 75 people with her gift of life.”

In 2021, America Mafalda Thayer, 55, was brutally killed and beheaded by her Cuban-born boyfriend, Alexis Saborit-Viltres, after she told him she wanted to end their relationship.

“He was always happy,” Thayer’s friend and former co-worker Eileen Necklen said he told the Minnesota Star Tribune. “He was just a fire … an unbeliever.”

In addition to the many deaths caused by illegal immigrants, some Minnesotans have been hurt by little if any response from Democratic leaders, including the homeowner of St. Paul who was brutally raped by Mexican Rolando Lopez-Meneses in 2021 after he refused to let his girlfriend live with him, TwinCities.com reported.

“Governor Walz, Lt. Gov Flanagan and other Minnesota DFL leaders have forgotten what it means to be an American or a Minnesotan,” Adam Schwarze, former Navy SEAL and GOP US Senate Candidate in Minnesota told Fox News Digital.

“Where is the outrage of our innocent citizens who are killed by criminals? Where is their press conference, their candlelight vigil. Enough is enough. We need new leadership.”

Fox News Digital reached out to Walz, Frey, and Lt. Gov. Peggy Flanagan asked if their offices could point to an example of publicly mourning a Minnesotan who was killed or injured by illegal immigrants but did not receive a response.

“This is not leadership – a selective outrage designed to change the subject from the millions lost to fraud on their watch,” said retired Minnesota State Patrol Lieutenant John Nagel, who is running for Congress as a Republican against Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar in Minnesota’s 5th district, he told Fox News Digital.

“Minnesota Democrats decide which victims are important based on politics and optics, not on the equitable application of the law. When a tragedy fits their narrative, we get press conferences and active expectations. When Minnesotans are killed in circumstances tied to their failed federal immigration policy, we hear almost nothing – no urgency, no accountability, just silence and distraction.”

CRITICS WARN MINNESOTA LAW IN EFFECT SETS UP ‘NEXT BRIGADE FRAUD’

ICE officials on Saturday he pulled out a shocking list of the “worst” immigrant criminals arrested during their latest operation in a Minnesota sanctuary, including child rapists and nearly a dozen murderers.

“Governor Walz and Mayor Frey refused to cooperate with ICE law enforcement and let nearly 470 criminals, including violent criminals, back onto the streets of Minnesota,” DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin told Fox News Digital.

“They have made it abundantly clear that they are putting politics ahead of public safety. Politicians in Minnesota’s sanctuary cities have chosen to side with illegal gangs and ignore their American victims. This administration puts the safety of the American people first and stands up for the victims of illegal crimes. Secretary Noem has relaunched the VOICE office to give victims and their families access to resources first and we support the American people first.”

Frey was asked about Harwell in an interview with Fox & Friends on Wednesday and responded by repeating his belief that ICE is overstepping its bounds in the city without specifically mentioning Harwell.

“While claiming to act out of compassion for immigrants, local politicians like Tim Walz, Jacob Frey and Peggy Flanagan end up prioritizing the rights of illegal immigrants over the rights of American citizens,” Dale Wilcox, executive director and general counsel of the Federation for American Immigration Reform told Fox News Digital.

“Thousands of innocent Americans have lost their lives to criminals, yet politicians in sanctuaries have no heart for their families’ suffering. America needs leaders who put the interests of the American people first.”
