What to expect from a major tech conference in January
CES doesn’t start until January, but whispers of products and announcements that could be in store for the biggest tech conference of the year are starting to take shape. The CES 2026 Show Floor is officially open from January 6 to 9, although the exhibition kicks off events on Sunday January 4 and the press conference on Monday. As usual, demos, announcements and social networking events will take place at the Las Vegas Convention Center and surrounding hotels throughout the city. As always, Engedget will be covering the event in person and remotely, bringing you news and features straight from the floor of the show.
Exact details and pre-announcements will trickle in as we get closer to CES, but for now, we know which companies will host press conferences and which tech trends can rear their heads at the show.
We already know about it
Press conferences and exhibit booths are the bread and butter of CES. The consumer technology organization has already published a searchable directory of who will be attending the show, as well as a schedule of all the official panels and presentations.
On Sunday, January 4, Samsung will release CES with a “first look,” a presentation hosted by TM Roh, at the company’s division of DX (in device information) in 2026, and a new experience for customers driven by AI. “
That will be followed by many press conferences on the wall of tomorrow, January 5. LG holds its “establishment with the tune of love, Intel CEO of travel holds the latest car conference of the first car address that closes the day.
Finally, on Tuesday, January 6, Lenovo CEO yuanqing yang will host Lenovo’s Tech World Conference in the field, using a large screen determined to re-route AI with the technology of everything by re-installing, and power. ” It is worth noting that Lenovo is the parent company of Motorola, which makes phones and folders that include AI tools, so it is possible that those devices will be presented.
Besides the official launch of new products and new initiatives, reading the tea leaves of what was announced last year and which companies are reportedly working, we can do something learned at CES 2026.
New chips from AMD, Intel and Qualcomm
CES is usually the beginning of a cascade of new chip announcements in a given year, and one of the new areas of silicon from actual consumer products. AMD will use its Keybote to introduce new types of its hiszen chips, including the latest Ryzen 7 9850x3D, which is expected to provide better thwed performance, and the Ryzen 9000g series, which can be built with Amd 5 for Zen 5. The company may use its CES stage to continue over FSR Redstone Ai Deckstone Ai UpScaling tech.
Intel has already publicly announced that it will launch Panther Lake chips at Ces 2026. Intel Core Ultra Series 3 Chips Fit to Park “AI PC” Laptoll. Based on the view from October 2025, Intel says that the first chip made with its 18A process of 18a will offer a performance of only 2 percent than the previous generations and the Chip’s PUMP REMPUS from the last generation.
Qualcomm is also rumored to be decorating laptops at the show, building on the work being done to move Snapdragon chips out of phones and tablets and into other types of computers. SnapDragon X2 ELTITE and X2 Elite Premium Chips should start appearing in laptops at CES 2026, looking at the improved speed and AI performance the company promised by 2025.
Bright screens, “Truder”
Sony has announced a collection of TVs New Bravia in April 2025, instead of the anger of the company, to complete its Midrange options and add a new budget model to the mix. The star of this updated Bravia range is the Bravia 9, which features a QD-aled panel, but Sony seems to be preparing a new level of RGB led technology that uses new backlights drawn in red, green and even blue. Unlike QD-OLD, which filters a layer of blue light from the water dots that change color, the general RGB LED Backlight Technology without requiring an additional layer of ontle without burning food.
The company is already comfortable with the name “real RGB,” which could end up calling this a new taste of display if it decides to show them at CES. It seems possible, because CES is nothing if not a show – it is a sure bet that we will see new TVs from the likes of LG and Samsung over Sony. If the company doesn’t introduce new display technology to its TVs, it has a 240hz Playstation Monitor coming in 2026 to show at CES instead.
Sony isn’t the only company that is decked out in bright screens. It is reported that Samsung is pushing an updated version of the HDR10 and HDR10 + standards that may be ready to simply receive the response of Dolby Vision 2, which includes support for BI-Questle tone content. Samsung’s That will reportedly offer improved brightness, type-based tone mapping and smart smoothing options, among other improvements.
Ballie Watch 2026
The love-shaped yellow robot known as “Ballie” has been announced twice, first in 2020 and again in 2024 with a projector. Samsung said the Ballie would go on sale in 2025 at CES last year and then shared in April 2025 that the Ballie would ship this summer with the Gemini Eboard. But it’s almost 2026, and Ballie is nowhere to be found. It is possible that Samsung can make a third attempt by announcing its robot at CES 2026, but whether it is not or not, robots will still be a big part of the show.
Robot Vacuums and mops were the main highlights of CES 2025, and it is safe to expect a significant improvement from the COOSOROCK SAROS Z70 models, but all the robots will accept the norm like the Dreame X50 which seems to be the norm. Roborock can also show off its new roborock qrevo Culv 2 vacuum, the first of its robotic vacuums to include a roller mop.
Apart from just clearing the gaps effectively, improving the robot’s navigation can also be a major concern in the exhibition. Prominent members of the AI industry are turning their attention from large-scale linguistic models to global models, which aim to give AI a deeper understanding of physical space. Those world models could be the key to making robots, bipedal or otherwise, capable of navigating homes and workplaces, and could be a key talking point at CES 2026.
We’ll be updating this article throughout the month as more deals and new products are confirmed – stay tuned for future updates!
