Freakier Friday it was a summer box office hit, with a $29 million domestic opening weekend (153 million total). It had the highest opening in August for a G-rated film. Not too shabby for the sequel. Of course, a lot of that is due to the good word of mouth coming out of the theater. It currently holds a 74 percent criticism rating and a 91 percent bankruptcy rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
