Russian drone, missile attack on Kyav leaves many dead, injured – nationally
Russia launched a massive drone strike in Kyiv early Friday, killing at least six people, sparking fires and explosions as the sound of explosions echoed throughout the city, Ukrainian authorities said. A pregnant woman was among about 35 people injured.
Emergency teams responded to several strikes overnight, said Tymur Tkachenko, Kyiv’s military chief. Russia used at least 430 drones and 18 missiles in the attack that left holes in some buildings in the city, Ukrainian President Voldkyy said.
Russia has launched a destructive air campaign against Ukraine since the attacks on its neighbor nearly four years ago. The political efforts of the US-USED this year to stop fighting have been so far.
Friday’s attack, which was also aimed at Odesa in the south and Northeast of the Northeast, was mainly aimed at Kyiv, where drones and missiles hit high-rise blocks, according to Zelenskyy.

Moscow denies targeting civilian areas, with Russia’s defense ministry saying Friday it had carried out overnight strikes on Ukraine’s “military and industrial and power centers.” Ukrainian authorities scoff at those claims, pointing to repeated damage to homes and public buildings.
This attack was the biggest in Kyiv for almost three weeks. Many of Russia’s recent attacks have targeted the country’s electricity infrastructure ahead of the bitter winter months.
Ukraine used its US air defense systems to provoke the attack and fired 14 missiles, Zelenskyy said. The Ukrainian leader called on foreign supporters to send some of the more complex plans.
In the Odesa region, Russian drones hit a busy street on market day in Chornomorsk, killing two people and injuring 11 others, said a 19-month-old commander, said a military official in the region, said military officer Oleh Kiper.
‘My hair caught fire’
Residents of Kyiv have been told to flee and are nearing the end of the night.
Maria Kalchenko said it was a miracle she survived when her building was being built.

“I didn’t hear anything, I just saw that my hair was on fire,” the 46-year-old rescue worker told the press.
He turned on his flashlight and saw that his dog was scared. “I turned around and saw that there was no wall, and there was a neighbor’s house, the neighbor was crying, there was no door, and flames were coming from the front door of the apartment,” he said.
Oleh Hudyma, 59, said he noticed the attack and intended to go to the bomb shelter but was not quick enough.
“I got up, I was dressed, I went out, there was an explosion. I couldn’t hear the engine (just) the engine, it just exploded, flames, everything flew,” he said. “I was in the kitchen and I just fell on the floor.”
City authorities have warned that power and water outages are possible.
Eight of the ten districts reported. Emergency teams battled fires in apartment blocks, debris from the explosion was blocked across the scene and cars lined the streets and ablaze was planned.
In the wider Kyiv region, Russian strikes damaged critical infrastructure and private homes, harming at least the public, the head of the regional military, said Mykola Kalashnyk. A 55-year-old man in Bila Tserkva caught fire and was immediately taken to hospital, he said. Fires broke out in toilets in big cities.
The strike came as European Union officials warned this week that Ukraine must continue to crack down on fraud following a major nuclear deal that put NOPER officials at the top of the nuclear deal. But they also offered assurances that aid will continue to flow as Kyiv has the means to attack Russia.
Russia accuses Ukraine of hacking public sites

In Novorossiysk, a port city in Krasnodar region, the attack damaged an oil depot at the Sheskharis Transship Complex, as well as offshore buildings, local authorities said.
A source in the security service of Ukraine confirmed the Novorossiysk attack to the Associated Press, speaking on condition of anonymity because he is not authorized to speak publicly.
Novorossiysk is the second largest port in Russia for exporting oil, said the source, adding that the damaged state of the oil attack at the edges, in the pipeline infrastructure and units, led to a major fire.
Ukraine also hit the positions of the S-300 / S-400 air defense system in Novorossiysk, the source said.
Falling drone debris damaged a civilian vessel in the harbor, and three crew members were hospitalized with injuries, Russian officials said. Several residential buildings were also damaged, and a man in one of those buildings was hospitalized with injuries, officials said.
In Saratov region, Gov. Roman Busargin said the attack was damaging “the infrastructure of zentestry.” Unconfirmed media reports said an oil refinery was hit.
